Global compact on education: the four areas of study

cec-global-compact

Pope Francis in his message of 12th of September 2019 invited to invest the best energies with creativity and responsibility, and stated that "proactive and confident action opens education to long-term planning, which does not get stuck in static conditions".

To give substance to the Pope's appeal, four thematic areas have been chosen through which it will be possible to deepen the contents, develop projects, open paths for reflection and create experiences.

The four areas are as follows:

a) dignity and human rights;

b) peace and citizenship;

c) integral ecology;

d) fraternity and development.

For each of these areas there will be a network of universities that will undertake the promotion of the projects in order to deepen the above mentioned contents.

These are the universities that have been chosen as the coordinators:

For dignity and human rights, the University of Notre Dame of the United States of America.

For peace and citizenship, the Pontifical Lateran University.

For integral ecology, the Ponificia Universida Javeriana of Bogotà.

For fraternity and development, the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart.

The work that will develop will be coordinated by the LUMSA University of Rome, in collaboration with the Dicastery.
